How to prepare trading cards for grading
Preparing a card for grading is about protecting its existing condition, not making it look better. A repeatable inspection and packing routine helps prevent fingerprints, scratches, edge wear and pressure damage before submission.

Wash and dry your hands, use a clean work surface and handle cards by the edges. Do not slide cards across a table, use household cleaners, polish, erase, press or wet-clean them. For loose dust, use only a gentle dry approach. Photograph the card before packing as a condition record.

Use a fresh penny sleeve and the semi-rigid holder recommended by your grading destination. Semi-rigid Card Saver-style holders are commonly preferred for submissions because they protect the card while allowing safer removal. Do not force a thick or unusual card into a holder.

Match every card to the correct form or order line, keep cards in paperwork order and separate different submissions. Use cardboard dividers only when allowed.
